How to prepare the Orange and Chocolate Bundt Cake

  • Wash the orange thoroughly. Grate the zest and set it aside. Then squeeze it to extract the juice. For this cake, you need about 3.4 oz of orange juice, so if necessary, squeeze another half an orange to reach 3.4 oz.

  • Beat the 2 whole eggs with the sugar, using an electric mixer, for 7-8 minutes until you get a light and fluffy mixture. Add the orange juice and zest and the melted butter. Mix.

  • Continue by adding the sifted flour and the baking powder. Mix. Finally, add the candied orange peel and chocolate chips. Mix with a spatula to combine them into the batter.

  • Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch bundt cake pan. Decorate the surface with sliced almonds and sugar granules. Bake the Orange and Chocolate Bundt Cake in a preheated static oven at 350°F for 35-40 minutes.

  • Always do the “toothpick test” to check if the cake is cooked inside. Let it cool before turning it out onto a serving plate and decorate it as desired with powdered sugar.
