  • as needed powdered sugar (for decoration)

  • Bundt pan

How to make the Orange and Chocolate Cake

  • You need untreated oranges for this cake so you can also use the peel. Wash the oranges thoroughly. Grate the peel of one orange and set it aside. Squeeze the oranges to get the juice. You need 1/2 cup of orange juice for this cake.

  • Beat the 2 whole eggs with the sugar using an electric mixer for 6-7 minutes, until you have a light and frothy mixture. Add the orange juice, orange zest, and melted butter. Mix.

  • Continue by adding the sifted flour and baking powder. Finally, add the chocolate chips and simply fold them into the batter with a spatula.

  • Grease a bundt pan, mine is 22 cm in diameter, find the link higher up in the recipe. Pour the batter into the pan and bake the Orange Bundt Cake in the preheated oven at 350°F in static mode for 35-40 minutes.

  • Always do the toothpick test to check the doneness of the cake inside. Let the Bundt Cake cool before unmolding it onto a serving plate and decorate it as you like with some powdered sugar.

Your Questions

  • Why do the chocolate chips always go to the bottom?

The batter must be dense enough, and after incorporating the chocolate chips well into the batter, the cake must go straight into the oven, so the oven should be preheated in advance

  • Can I replace butter with oil?

Yes, with 1/4 cup of vegetable oil or light olive oil
