PAN-SEARED SALMON, a special seafood main dish recipe

Pan-seared salmon for a simple and delicious main course. I often notice among those who follow me the mistaken belief that cooking fish is complicated and difficult. Sure, it may require some specific cleaning, which is not necessary when preparing meat, but with a few small tricks and perhaps asking for help with the cleaning from your trusted fishmonger, even preparing a fish main course can be very rewarding. Today I want to tell you how I prepared some Pan-seared salmon fillets. A really simple and delicious recipe to prepare. I used fresh salmon fillets, but frozen ones are also fine. I accompanied the salmon with spinach sautéed in a pan, but you can choose any side dish you prefer. Few and simple ingredients for a dish that conquers everyone at the table. And then don’t tell me that cooking fish is difficult! Let’s run to the kitchen and prepare together the White Wine Salmon

  • 2 fillets salmon (about 17.6 oz)
  • 1.7 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • cup white wine
  • 1 teaspoon mixed peppercorns
  • 1 clove garlic
  • to taste salt

How to Prepare Pan-Seared Salmon

  • Wash the salmon fillets and use a knife to remove the outer scales. Let them dry on paper towels. In a pan, add the garlic clove and the extra virgin olive oil. Also, add the salmon fillets.

  • Let the salmon cook for 2-3 minutes on one side. Gently turn them over with the help of a spatula and let them brown well on the other side, too.

  • Let them cook for another 2 minutes and pour in the white wine. Adjust the salt, cover the pan with a lid, and let the salmon cook for another 3-4 minutes. At the end of cooking, add freshly ground pepper.

Loredana’s Tips

If you have leftover salmon, keep it in a container in the fridge for 1-2 days. You can heat it for a few minutes in a pan or in the microwave, or you can also freeze it

If you prefer, you can also add mixed herbs or simply some chopped parsley
