Pandoro truffles, the special treat for the Holidays. At Christmas, typical desserts such as Panettone and Pandoro are a must. They are already great to enjoy on their own; I heat them in the microwave for a minute to release all the aromas and flavors. I confess that when I was little, my grandmother would place the panettone near the stove or, in more recent times, on the radiator. The house would immediately fill with a delicious fragrance, and the pandoro or panettone would vanish in no time. Today, families are getting smaller, and often we have many desserts and always have some leftover slices of pandoro or panettone. Today I want to share with you the simple and quick recipe for making delicious and tasty Pandoro and dark chocolate truffles. Small treats so good to eat in one bite, perfect to offer to family and friends. Few and simple ingredients, and here’s another Christmas Dessert that will look great on your tray of homemade Christmas sweets. Ingredients for Chocolate Truffles with Pandoro
- 7 oz pandoro
- 3.5 oz ricotta
- 2 tbsp rum
- 1/2 orange zest (untreated)
- 3.5 oz dark chocolate
- 0.7 oz hazelnut grains
How to Prepare Pandoro and Chocolate Treats
Crumble the pandoro slices in a bowl. Add the ricotta, grated zest of half an untreated orange, and the rum, or another liqueur. If you prefer not to add liqueur, you can simply replace it with 2-3 tablespoons of orange juice.
Mix the ingredients well. With slightly dampened hands, shape into small balls. Place them on a tray and let them set in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Melt the dark chocolate in pieces using a double boiler. Dip the balls into the melted chocolate, using 2 teaspoons to turn them, then place them on a tray lined with parchment or aluminum foil.
Before the chocolate dries, decorate them with hazelnut grains. Let the chocolate dry simply in the air or more quickly in the fridge.
See you tomorrow with a new recipe, hugs, Loredana
