Chocolate Cookie Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon baking powder (4 grams)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch pepper
- as needed powdered sugar (for decorating)
How to Make Christmas Chocolate Cookies
Mix the softened butter cut into small cubes with the sugar in a bowl. Add the egg and mix. Continue the preparation by adding the sifted flour, unsweetened cocoa, and baking powder. Also, add the spices, a pinch of salt, and pepper, and the dark chocolate chips.
Mix well first with a fork and then with your hands. Form a soft dough, cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and let the dough firm up in the fridge for 30 minutes. Take the dough again and with slightly damp hands take a small ball and roll it between your hands.
Place the balls slightly apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Dust them with powdered sugar before baking them. Bake the Spicy Cookies in a preheated static oven at 356°F (180°C) for 14-16 minutes. Let them cool slightly before transferring them to a tray.
See you tomorrow with a new recipe, a hug, Loredana
Loredana’s Tips
The Cookies remain soft in a container for 3-4 days. You can store them for a longer time but they will lose a bit of softness
If you prefer, you can replace the chocolate chips with 2.5 oz (70 grams) of dark chocolate cut into small pieces
