Stuffed meatloaf baked in the oven. The recipe I want to share with you today is for a main dish I love to prepare often for Sunday lunch and festive days. A tasty Meatloaf stuffed with cooked ham and melting cheese. A recipe taught to me by my mom and which I have slightly modified to make it my own. Practically the ingredients of classic Meatballs in sauce in a rich and tasty version. I prepared the mixture, spread it out, and filled it with cooked ham and smoked cheese; wrapped it to form a roll and then baked it in the oven. You can also prepare the recipe in advance and store the Meatloaf in a container in the fridge or even freeze it, so you’ll just have to bake it in the oven. With a side of potatoes or a simple salad, it is perfect. I also recommend not to miss the recipe for Lemon chicken meatballs and the recipe for Pork roast. Ingredients for Ground Meat Meatloaf
- 1.1 lbs mixed ground meat
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (from bread)
- 1 bunch parsley
- to taste salt
- 1 pinch pepper
- 4.2 oz cooked ham
- 8.8 oz smoked cheese (sliced)
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- to taste extra virgin olive oil
How to prepare Oven-Baked Stuffed Meatloaf
Pour the mixed ground meat into a bowl. Add a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper.
Add the chopped parsley, grated Parmesan cheese, and an egg.
Add the crumbled bread crumbs to the bowl. Mix the mixture simply with a fork.
Sprinkle a large sheet of baking paper with breadcrumbs. Pour the meat mixture over it.
With slightly damp hands, flatten the meat into a rectangle shape.
Cover with slices of smoked cheese or other soft, melting cheese, then slices of cooked ham.
Using the baking paper, wrap the meat to form a stuffed roll. Press well on the sides and ends to seal it properly. Transfer the meatloaf to a baking tray with the baking paper.
Sprinkle it with breadcrumbs and oil it. Close the baking paper to cover the roll. This way, it will cook well inside without browning immediately outside.
Bake the Stuffed Meatloaf in a hot oven at 375°F for about 30 minutes. After the first 20 minutes of cooking, open the baking paper and continue cooking for another 10 minutes.
