Valentine’s Puff Pastries — simple and quick. There’s very little left until the celebration of love, February 14, Valentine’s Day, so today I want to share the simplest and quickest recipe to celebrate love. They’re crisp, light and golden, encapsulating all the magic of a dessert made with the heart. A small red jam heart is the message of love they enclose. You only need 2 ingredients and a pinch of imagination to prepare treats that win you over at the first bite! Just like you can’t miss delicious Valentine’s Day Cupcakes and a decadent Valentine’s Tiramisu. Puff pastry becomes little love letters with the sweetest message. They’re perfect for a special breakfast, a romantic snack or to finish the most sentimental dinner of the year! These puff pastries were created to say “I love you” without words. Making them is already an act of love, but enjoying them together is even more so. If you make them again, tell me who you dedicated them to: every dessert has a story, and the most beautiful is always the love story.

How to prepare the Puff Pastries with jam heart
Unroll the rectangular puff pastry on your work surface and cut it into rectangles of 2 3/8 x 4 3/4 in (length should be twice the width). You can make them in other sizes but keep the length double the width.
With a small heart-shaped cutter, cut an upside-down little heart out of one half of each rectangle as shown in the pictures.
Place a spoonful of cranberry jam on the opposite half.
Gently fold the half with the heart over the half with the jam so that the jam shows through the little window formed by the heart.
Press all around with the tines of a fork to seal. Make all the pastries the same way. Place them slightly apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush them with milk and sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake in a preheated conventional oven at 374°F for 18–20 minutes. Decorate as you like with powdered sugar.

Loredana’s Tips
Valentine’s puff pastries are not suitable for keeping more than one day because the puff pastry softens and loses its crispness.
