Baked Onions

The baked onions are perfect to bring to the table alongside any meat or fish dish, or to enjoy as a vegetarian dish paired with fresh or aged cheese. A great flavorful idea for everyday menus. Their Mediterranean flavor with the addition of capers, and cherry tomatoes will conquer you at first taste.

Ingredients

Let’s see together what we need to prepare

  • 1.1 lbs red onions
  • 5.3 oz cherry tomatoes
  • 1.8 oz breadcrumbs
  • 1.4 oz cheese (grated)
  • 0.35 oz capers
  • to taste pepper
  • to taste chopped parsley
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 Small Bowl
  • 1 Knife

Steps

Let’s start preparing

  • Let’s start preparing the baked onions, peel the onions, removing only the first outer layer, rinse them.

    Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes, cut them into wedges and set aside.

  • Put the breadcrumbs in a bowl and add the grated cheese, salt, pepper, and chopped parsley, mix everything

    Place the onion wedges in a baking dish, add the cherry tomatoes, and capers.

    Generously sprinkle the surface with the mix of breadcrumbs and cheese and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil.

    Bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F for 20 minutes and then switch to grill for another 5 minutes.
