GRANDMA’S SOFT TART, it’s a recipe that will win you over at the first bite. What makes this dessert unique is the baking in the special mold, which will allow you to get a cavity in the center of the cake. This way you won’t need to cut the cake, but you can fill it directly as you like. To prepare the soft tart, you will need just a few simple ingredients. The SOFT TART is great to enjoy for breakfast and the whole family’s snack.
But now let’s go to the kitchen and I’ll show you how to prepare the GRANDMA’S SOFT TART

Ingredients
- 1 1/8 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 tbsps vegetable oil (or 3 1/2 tbsps butter)
- 2 tbsps milk
- 1 1/4 tsps baking powder
- 2 cups milk
- 4 egg yolks
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 packet vanillin
- 1 lemon (zest)
- to taste sliced almonds
- to taste powdered sugar

Let’s start preparing the soft tart, beat the eggs with the sugar with an electric mixer until they are light and fluffy
Add the milk, oil and continue mixing the batter.
Add the flour and baking powder sifted together and mix until you get a creamy batter without lumps.
Pour it into a smart mold of 8.66 inches, previously greased, and level it with a spatula.
Bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F for about 25 minutes. Once the tart is ready, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly.
Pour the milk into a saucepan. Add the zest of a lemon. Place the saucepan on the stove and bring the milk to a boil.
Meanwhile, in a bowl, whisk the egg yolks with the sugar using a hand whisk. Add the sifted flour and mix again to combine everything. When the milk is almost boiling, remove it from the heat and pour in the yolk and sugar mixture, continuing to stir.
Put it back on the heat and cook for a few minutes, constantly stirring, until you get a cream of the right consistency.
Pour the custard into a bowl and cover it with cling film touching the surface.
Spread the cream on the soft base and level it with the back of a spoon, distribute the pine nuts. Just before serving, sprinkle it with powdered sugar
