Here are some delicious omelettes you can prepare:
- Difficulty: Very Easy
- Cost: Very Cheap
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: 2 People
- Cooking methods: Air Frying
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 0.7 oz grated Parmesan cheese
- to taste extra virgin olive oil
- to taste salt
- 2 onions (about 10.5 ounces)
Tools
- 1 Oil Sprayer
- 1 Air Fryer
- Parchment Paper
- 1 Baking Pan
Steps
To prepare the air fryer onion omelette, start by finely slicing the onions; they should be 1/8 inch thick. You can use a mandoline slicer to help.
Place the onions in a bowl and season with 2-3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, mixing well to distribute the oil evenly.
Place a baking pan suitable for your air fryer size inside the air fryer basket, and line it with parchment paper, or alternatively, line the basket with parchment paper (this is the method I used). Lightly oil it, add the onions, distribute them evenly, and cook at 165°F for the first 10 minutes, then raise the temperature to 170°F and cook for another 10 minutes. Stir the onions often for even cooking.
Meanwhile, in a bowl, crack the eggs, add a pinch of salt, the grated Parmesan cheese, and beat with a fork.
Once the onions are cooked, pour the beaten eggs over them and cook the omelette for 12/15 minutes at 170°F. To ensure it is cooked, use the toothpick test and extend the cooking time for a few more minutes if necessary.
After cooking, let it cool for a few minutes and serve the onion omelette.
Storage
The air fryer onion omelette can be stored in the fridge for 1/2 days in an airtight container.
