Steps for Air Fryer Pizza
In a bowl, pour the flour suitable for medium leavening (with a strength of about 260). Crumble the yeast into the flour with your hands, then add the water, extra virgin olive oil, and start kneading with a spoon. Once the water is completely absorbed by the flour, add the salt and continue kneading until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous dough ball. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest for 20 minutes.
Retrieve the dough and perform a round of reinforcement folds: gently stretch the dough to form a rectangle, lift one side and bring it to the center, then do the same with the other side. Rotate the dough 90 degrees and repeat the process. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place.
When the dough has doubled in size, transfer it to a floured surface and divide it into two equal parts. Cover the dough balls with a cloth and let them rise for about an hour. After the second rising time, sprinkle the work surface with flour and start stretching the dough balls with your fingertips until you get discs the size of your air fryer basket.
Place the pizza in the basket, top it with the tomato sauce, and cook at 375 °F for 6-7 minutes. Then open the basket, add the mozzarella, and continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes.
Remove from the fryer and finish with a drizzle of raw oil. Here is a delicious Margherita pizza cooked in an air fryer.
Storing Air Fryer Pizza
It’s hard to resist pizza, so it’s unlikely that any will be left… but if there’s any leftover, store it in the refrigerator for a day, in an airtight container. When ready to eat, reheat it for a couple of minutes in the air fryer: it will be as good as freshly made!
