Air fryer zucchini sticks are a delicious alternative to classic fried snacks, perfect both as a tasty side dish and as an appetizer snack. Cut into stick shapes, the zucchinis are usually breaded and then cooked in an air fryer until they achieve a crispy golden exterior with a soft interior.
If you are a fan of batter, you can try the version:
- Difficulty: Very Easy
- Cost: Very Cheap
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: 4 People
- Cooking methods: Air Frying
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 6 zucchini
- breadcrumbs (to taste)
- salt
- extra virgin olive oil
Tools
- Oil Sprayer
- Air Fryer
Steps
To prepare the air fryer zucchini sticks, wash the zucchinis, cut off both ends, and dry them carefully. Slice the zucchinis into slices about half an inch thick, then cut them into sticks about three inches long.
Take a bowl and add the zucchini sticks, season with three to four tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and mix so the oil is evenly distributed over the sticks.
Add breadcrumbs to the bowl (to taste) and mix well to adhere it to the zucchini sticks.
Place the zucchini sticks in the air fryer basket (I used an air fryer with a 6-liter capacity), avoiding overlapping them, spray some oil using the sprayer (alternatively, drizzle a thin stream of oil) and cook them at 350°F for 15 minutes, turning them halfway through. If the sticks are not crispy enough, you can continue cooking for a few more minutes.
Once cooked, before serving the zucchini sticks, season them with a pinch of salt.
Storage
The air fryer zucchini sticks can be stored in the fridge for one day in an airtight container.
