Apple and Chocolate Chip Cookies in Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup almond flour
  • 7 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 vial lemon flavor
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Golden apple (about 7 oz)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips

Steps

To prepare the apple and chocolate chip cookies in the air fryer, first pour all-purpose flour, almond flour (alternatively, you can blend whole almonds until they turn into powder), sugar, the teaspoon of cinnamon, and baking powder into a food processor. Turn on the processor to blend the dry ingredients.

Then, add the cold butter cut into pieces. Blend until you get a sandy mixture. Add the egg and lemon flavor. Turn the processor on again for a few seconds, just long enough to incorporate the egg. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl or a work surface and knead to combine the ingredients. Don’t worry if the dough seems not very compact.

Wash the apple, peel it, remove the core, and cut it into small pieces. Add the apple to the dough and work with your hands: the moisture of the fruit will help make the mixture more compact. Then, add the chocolate chips and continue kneading to distribute them evenly.

Form balls with your hands, slightly flatten them, and place them in the air fryer basket (in my 6-quart fryer, I could fit 10 cookies). After preheating the air fryer for a couple of minutes at 320°F, bake the cookies for 10 minutes. After this time, lower the temperature to 300°F and continue baking for another 5 minutes.

Once ready, remove the cookies and let them cool on a rack. If you like, you can sprinkle them with powdered sugar.

Storage of Apple and Chocolate Chip Cookies in Air Fryer

You can store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days.
