- 5 tbsp butter
- 1 egg

Steps
To prepare the apple pie in the air fryer, start with the filling. Wash the apples, peel them, remove the core, and cut them into small cubes. Place the diced apples in a bowl, add the lemon juice, and mix well.
In a skillet, add the sugar, half a teaspoon of cinnamon, and the apples. Place the skillet over heat and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once cooked, let it cool.
Meanwhile, prepare the shortcrust for the pie base: in a bowl, pour the sifted flour, sugar, pinch of salt, and cold butter cut into cubes. Work the ingredients until you obtain a sandy texture. Add the egg and lemon aroma and continue kneading until you have a smooth and homogeneous dough.
With the help of a rolling pin, roll out the shortcrust pastry (thickness of about 3/16 inches), you can place it between two sheets of parchment paper and let it rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
After resting in the refrigerator, take the shortcrust pastry and place it inside the 8-inch tart pan, ensure it adheres well to the bottom and sides, and remove the excess pastry. Pour the cooked apples onto the base and, with the help of a spatula, distribute them evenly. With the leftover pastry, create strips and decorate the pie.
Place the pan in the air fryer’s basket and cook at 320°F for 20 minutes. Check the cooking as times may vary for each air fryer.
Once cooking is complete, let it cool and sprinkle the pie with powdered sugar.
