  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Very economical
  • Rest time: 8 Hours
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 8 Pieces
  • Cooking methods: Air Frying
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (w 260)
  • 6 1/2 tbsps butter
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 tsps fresh yeast
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tbsps unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet vanillin
  • A few drops orange flavor

Tools

  • 1 Air Fryer
  • Parchment Paper
  • 1 Stand Mixer

Steps for Kinder Croissants in Air Fryer

First, in the bowl of the stand mixer, pour the flour, sugar, vanillin, and crumbled fresh yeast with your hands. Mix the dry ingredients.

Next, add the softened butter, milk, eggs (all at room temperature), a few drops of orange flavor, and finally the salt. Knead until you get a smooth and elastic dough.

Divide the dough into two equal portions: incorporate the unsweetened cocoa into one, along with a tablespoon of milk, then work the dough until it reaches a homogeneous consistency.

Place the two doughs in two separate bowls, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise until doubled in volume.

Once the rising is complete, roll out the two doughs forming two rectangles of the same size. Brush the cocoa dough with a bit of water, then place the white dough on top. Lightly roll with a rolling pin to adhere the two layers well, keeping the rectangular shape. The final thickness should be about 1/4 inch.

Using a pizza cutter, cut out 8 triangles. Gently stretch each triangle, then roll from the base towards the tip to obtain the typical croissant shape.

Place the croissants on parchment paper, taking care to leave some space between each. Cover them with plastic wrap and let them rise until doubled in volume, for about 3-4 hours.

Place the croissants in the air fryer basket (in my case, three fit). For convenience, cut the parchment paper into rectangles based on the size of the croissants. Bake them at 320°F for 7 minutes. After the time passes, open the basket, remove the parchment paper, and gently flip the croissants. Lower the temperature to 300°F and continue baking for another 3-4 minutes.

Once cooked, let them cool slightly and fill with hazelnut spread.

Storage and Tips

The Kinder croissants in the air fryer stay fresh for about 2 days if stored at room temperature inside an airtight container.

You can fill them as you like: with chocolate cream, pistachio cream, custard, or any other delicious filling of your choice.
