The kissed pizza in the air fryer is a rustic and delicious specialty, inspired by the tradition of the oven, where simplicity and taste meet. It is made by overlaying the two halves of the pizza disc which, “kissing” during cooking, gives rise to the name. Once ready, it can be filled as desired with cold cuts, cheeses, or vegetables. The surface is crispy, while the inside remains soft and slightly airy. Perfect for a genuine dinner, a quick snack, or a convivial appetizer, kissed pizza wins with its simple and authentic goodness.

Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour (W 260)
- 1 1/3 cups water
- 1 1/2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- as needed semolina
- 1 1/2 tsp fresh yeast
Tools
- 1 Air fryer
Steps
To prepare the kissed pizza in the air fryer, pour the flour into a bowl, crumble the fresh yeast with your hands, then add the water and extra virgin olive oil. Begin kneading. When the water has been absorbed, add the salt and continue kneading until you get a smooth and homogeneous dough.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise until it doubles in volume. It will take about 4-5 hours.
After the rising time, divide the dough into 4 pieces of about 7.5 oz each and let rise for about 1 hour.
On a floured board with semolina, roll out each piece forming round pizzas. Pour a drizzle of oil on half of the dough, fold into a half-moon without pressing too much, and pour another drizzle of oil on the surface.
Transfer the pizza to the basket of the air fryer and cook at 375°F for 8 minutes. Then turn it over and continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes.
And here is your kissed pizza, ready to be filled however you like!
Storage
The kissed pizza in the air fryer can be stored for one day at room temperature in an airtight container. Before consuming it, it is recommended to reheat it for a few minutes in the fryer.
