Baked Ricotta with Herbs and Pink Pepper

The Baked Ricotta with Herbs and Pink Pepper is suitable both as an appetizer and as a true main dish. Nothing is simpler and quicker to prepare, and once placed in the oven, it’s done! You can accompany it with fresh vegetables, and since the oven is on, also with confit cherry tomatoes.

For this recipe, I used the Malacasa porcelain baking dish

Baked Ricotta with Herbs and Pink Pepper
  • Difficulty: Very easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 4 servings
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 1.1 lbs sheep ricotta
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 sprig Rosemary
  • 1 sprig Thyme
  • 1 sprig Sage
  • to taste salt and pink pepper
  • 4 tbsps Extra virgin olive oil

Tools

  • Baking dish

Preparation

  • First of all, organize your workspace with all the ingredients already measured, so you have everything within reach.

Wash, dry, and finely chop all your herbs, but place them in a small bowl, so they are ready when needed.

Oil the baking dish with two tablespoons of oil, place the sheep ricotta inside, and season it by drizzling it with the remaining oil, so the rest doesn’t get lost at the bottom.

At this point, sprinkle it with salt and all the herbs, so it flavors well, and bake in a preheated oven at 356°F.

Let it cook for about 30/40 minutes, but it all depends on the size of the ricotta, and in any case, do not turn it off until it is golden.

Serve your Baked Ricotta with Herbs and Pink Pepper, but not before sprinkling it with pink peppercorns.

I assure you, it is delicious, even when consumed at room temperature, making it perfect for a buffet.

Notes

Advice: for this recipe, you can use any type of ricotta: if you find small ones you can serve them in portions, otherwise you will divide them directly at the table.

If you want to use less oil, you can line the pan with baking paper.
