Banana and Dark Chocolate Bars, super easy to prepare and above all sweet but without added sugar, therefore very healthy. Ideal for athletes and as a snack for both adults and children. Eaten straight from the freezer, they can also replace ice cream. However, for this recipe, not all bananas can be used, only those super ripe ones with dark skin, basically the ones you would never buy. Besides the many benefits bananas bring to our body, depending on their ripeness, they can be great substitutes for butter in desserts. What are you waiting for? Try them now and let me know.

Ingredients
- 10.5 oz peeled ripe bananas
- 5.3 oz dark chocolate
- 2 tbsps desiccated coconut
- to taste white chocolate
- to taste sliced almonds
Tools
- 1 Saucepan
- 1 Bowl for the double boiler
- 1 Mold
- 1 Spatula
- 1 Knife
Preparation
Peel the bananas, chop them into pieces, and mash them with a fork. Add the coconut and mix the two ingredients well.
Lightly wet the parchment paper and squeeze it to fit better into the chosen mold, and shred the white chocolate. After breaking the dark chocolate into pieces, melt it using a double boiler.
Combine it with the banana and coconut puree and mix well. Pour the obtained mixture into a mold, spread it evenly, and level it to obtain a uniform thickness.
Sprinkle the top of the treat with sliced almonds and pieces of white chocolate. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for an hour. After this time, place in the freezer for at least 4 hours.
Before serving our Banana and Dark Chocolate Bars, remove the slab from the freezer and, with the help of a sharp knife, cut the bars to serve immediately. Delicious even if they thaw a bit.
Tips
The Bars can be stored in the freezer for about two months, but I recommend cutting them after the first 4 or 5 hours and then putting them back in the freezer in a container. This way, they will be portioned and won’t take up much space.
If you don’t like them so cold, you can leave them at room temperature for a few minutes, just enough to soften them a bit. However, know that by doing so, they will be a bit sticky, but still delicious.
