Have you ever tasted Breaded and Fried Veal Tripe? Typically, it is enjoyed in sauce, or plain, but I also like it this way. It is a dish that I often offer to my guests when I organize a brunch or during a buffet. For me and my husband, I prepare it as a true main course, accompanied by a good plate of vinegared vegetables.
- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Economical
- Preparation time: 15 Minutes
- Cooking time: 20 Minutes
- Portions: 4 servings
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 21 oz Fresh veal tripe
- to taste Breadcrumbs
- 3 Large eggs
- to taste Peanut oil
- to taste Salt and pepper
- to taste Lemon
Tools
- Bowl
- Frying pan
- Plate
- Paper towels
Preparation
First of all, organize your workspace with all the ingredients already measured.
Purchase tripe already cut into strips, or cut it yourself to the size you prefer.
Beat the eggs, add salt and pepper, and also add the grated zest of a lemon.
Pass all the tripe in breadcrumbs, and lay it on a plate.
Now, place in front of you the plate with the tripe, the one with the eggs, and also another one with breadcrumbs.
Start the second breading: dip each strip in the egg and then again in the breadcrumbs.
Put plenty of peanut oil in a narrow but tall pot, to not use too much oil.
As soon as it becomes hot, start frying.
Drain the fried tripe on a plate lined with paper towels.
Serve your Breaded and Fried Veal Tripe hot with lemon to squeeze on top.
Tip: If you wish to keep it as a reserve for emergencies, bread a bit more and freeze it.
