You can keep the cake in the refrigerator for a few days, or freeze it and even offer it as a frozen dessert.
Before whipping the cream, I usually put the bowl and beaters in the freezer because this way it will whip faster.
If you don’t like sour cherries, feel free to replace them with any other syrupy fruit, because it will be just as delicious.
