Wash the cherries, dry them, and remove both stems and pits.

In another bowl, combine the flour, oat flakes, sugar, and melted butter, mixing all ingredients.
Place the seasoned cherries in 4 ramekins, and evenly distribute a part of the mixture on top of each.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F, and let it cook for about 35 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
Serve your Cherry and Oat Flakes Crisp, warm or at room temperature, by sprinkling with lemon zest and perhaps accompanying it with a good vanilla ice cream.
Tips, Variations, and Storage
The cherry crisp can be prepared in advance if you plan to serve it at room temperature or even cold.
But if you prefer it warm and crispy, bake it at the last moment.
You can, in any case, store it in the refrigerator covered with plastic wrap to prevent it from absorbing bad odors or changing taste.
If you do not like cherries, feel free to prepare it with the fruit you prefer.
