Chocolate Corn Flakes and Sprinkles

Chocolate Corn Flakes and Sprinkles, a treat to serve at Carnival or as a dessert after dinner. A super easy and quick recipe that always pleases everyone, perfect even for those with little kitchen experience. I’ve used white chocolate, but it can be replaced with milk or dark chocolate. If you choose the latter, I recommend adding a knob of butter after melting, with the heat off, to make it shinier. Instead of colored sprinkles, you can sprinkle your favorite chopped nuts or even shredded coconut on top. I’m a fan of them and I always prepare them both during this period and throughout the year.

Chocolate Cornflakes and Sprinkles
  • Cost: Economical
  • Rest time: 1 Hour
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 15 cupcake liners
  • Cooking methods: Bain-marie
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: Fall, Winter, and Spring

Ingredients

  • 7 oz white chocolate
  • 4 cups corn flakes
  • to taste colored sprinkles

Tools

  • 1 Small Pot
  • 1 Bowl for melting
  • 1 Spatula BPA free
  • 1 Baking Paper

Preparation

Put the water in a small pot, without filling it to the brim, so it doesn’t come into contact with the bowl for melting the chocolate. Bring to a boil, meanwhile break the chocolate and arrange the corn flakes on a plate. After putting it in the bowl, melt it (it will take just a few minutes) stirring continuously with a spatula.

At this point, prepare the cupcake liners, pour the melted chocolate over the corn flakes, and mix well.

Distribute the mixture into each cupcake liner, and before the white chocolate dries and loses its stickiness, sprinkle with colored sugar sprinkles (even sugar strands work great).

Serve our Chocolate Corn Flakes and Sprinkles, only after letting them rest for about an hour, the time it takes for the chocolate to solidify again.

Tips

I usually store the chocolate-glazed treats in the fridge because with the heaters on, they don’t keep very well.

However, I always put them in an airtight glass or ceramic container.

If you don’t want to decorate them with colored sprinkles, perhaps after Carnival has passed, you can replace them with chopped nuts and shredded coconut.
