Chocolate Cornflakes and Sprinkles, a sweet treat to bring to the table during Carnival or even as an after-dinner delight. A super easy and quick recipe that everyone loves and is also ideal for those with little kitchen experience. I used white chocolate, but it can be replaced with milk or dark chocolate. If you opt for the latter, I recommend adding a knob of butter at the end of melting and before turning off the heat, to make it shinier. Instead of colored sprinkles, we can sprinkle crushed nuts on top, and shredded coconut would also be a great addition. I’m a fan and never miss making them both during this period and throughout the year.

- Cost: Inexpensive
- Rest time: 1 Hour
- Preparation time: 15 Minutes
- Portions: 15 paper cups
- Cooking methods: Double Boiler
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Fall, Winter, and Spring
Ingredients
- 7 oz white chocolate
- 3.5 oz corn flakes
- to taste colored sprinkles
Tools
- 1 Small Pot
- 1 Bowl for melting
- 1 Spatula BPA Free
- 1 Parchment Paper
Preparation
Put water in a small pot, without filling it to the brim, so it doesn’t come into contact with the bowl for melting the chocolate. Put it on the stove to boil, meanwhile, break the chocolate into pieces and place the cornflakes on a plate. After putting it in the bowl, let it melt (it will take only a few minutes) while stirring continuously with a spatula.
At this point, prepare the paper cups, pour the melted chocolate over the cornflakes and mix well.
Distribute the mixture into each cup, and before the white chocolate dries and loses its stickiness, sprinkle with colored sugar sprinkles (even sugar strands work well).
Serve our Chocolate Cornflakes and Sprinkles, but not before letting them rest for about an hour, enough time for the chocolate to solidify again.
Tips
Usually, I store chocolate-glazed treats in the refrigerator because they don’t keep well with the heating on.
However, I always put them in an airtight glass or ceramic container.
If you don’t want to decorate them with colored sprinkles, perhaps once Carnival has passed, you can replace them with crushed nuts and shredded coconut.
