Creamy Coffee Chicken Breast, a delightful recipe to try even if you’re not a coffee lover. A dish with a delicate, creamy flavor, very simple to prepare and also very quick. Suitable (like all my recipes) even for those less experienced in the kitchen, but no less beautiful to present or less tasty. In this case, I wanted to use yogurt because it is lighter than fresh cream, but I leave the choice to you, although I urge you to try it as described. Chicken is a food that is hard not to like and, having a delicate flavor, lends itself to many recipes. I will try to propose as many as possible. One piece of advice I want to leave you is to have it sliced rather thickly, because you risk it drying out too much and becoming tough.
Here are some truly delightful recipes:
- Cost: Economical
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: 2 people
- Cooking methods: Stove
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Fall, Winter and Spring
Ingredients
- 12 oz chicken breast, already cleaned
- as needed flour
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 full cup of coffee
- 1/2 cup plain whole yogurt
- 10 shelled hazelnuts
Tools
- 1 Moka
- 1 Pan non-stick
Preparation
After removing the chicken breast from the refrigerator (or the slices already prepared by your trusted butcher), bring it to room temperature (it will take about an hour) and pat it dry with absorbent paper to remove any moisture. After cleaning it, slice it thick. Finally, prepare it for cooking by passing it in the flour.
Put two generous tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil in a non-stick pan and brown the chicken breast slices well until a crust forms (Maillard reaction). Always keep a high flame to prevent liquids from escaping from the meat. At this point, add a full cup of coffee made with the moka, so it’s lighter than espresso.
Also add coarsely chopped hazelnuts and let it slightly reduce. Then add the yogurt and adjust the salt and pepper. Continue cooking for just a few minutes, always on high heat.
Place the slices on a serving plate and drizzle with the sauce. If the sauce has reduced too much, just pour a little boiling water into the pan and stir.
Serve our Creamy Coffee Chicken Breast immediately, very hot, and garnish with some whole hazelnuts.
Tips
The chicken breast can be stored in the refrigerator for no more than three days, but inside an airtight container, preferably glass or ceramic.
We can also freeze it in portions, but remember to always defrost it in the refrigerator and never at room temperature.
To reheat it, the microwave will work just fine.
