Crunchy Savory Granola in Air Fryer with Green Olives

Today, I’m bringing you into my kitchen to prepare the Crunchy Savory Granola in Air Fryer with Green Olives. An idea that first came up for an impromptu aperitif with friends. With what I had in the pantry and fridge, a crunchy snack was born that I now often make to give a more flavorful touch to simple salads. An easy, quick, and clever recipe that never disappoints, perfect also for munching on the couch.

Few ingredients, very little time, and that irresistible aroma that makes you want to eat it still warm, just out of the basket.

In recent years, it has also become my favorite Christmas gift idea: I put it in a cute jar, add a ribbon, and everyone asks me for the recipe.

Let me know in the comments if you try it.

Crunchy Savory Granola in Air Fryer with Green Olives
  • Cost: Economical
  • Rest time: 1 Hour
  • Preparation time: 5 Minutes
  • Cooking methods: Air Frying
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All Seasons

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mixed seeds
  • 3/4 cup pitted green olives
  • 1 tsp heaping of garam masala
  • 1 egg white

Tools

  • 1 Air Fryer
  • 1 Chopping Board
  • 1 Knife

Preparation

First, I dry the olives with paper towels because I used brined ones. After chopping them into small pieces, I put them in a bowl along with the spices and mix well with a fork so the ingredients are evenly distributed.

I also incorporate the egg white and mix everything together. I pour the mixture into the preheated air fryer, level with a fork, and cook for 10 minutes at 356°F, opening halfway to check that the cooking is proceeding correctly.

Once ready, I let it cool for about an hour and only when it’s lukewarm do I remove it from the air fryer. Finally, I crumble it by hand and put the Crunchy Savory Granola in Air Fryer with Green Olives in an airtight glass container, ready to be added to any dish, especially salads.

This is also a perfect and delicious idea to gift for Christmas.

Tips, Variations, and Storage

It keeps perfectly in an airtight glass container for a month but in a dark, dry place.

To make it more flavorful, I recommend adding a pinch of salt and chili powder.

Gift idea: I put it in a jar and add a small handwritten label, and it immediately becomes a perfect Christmas thought.
