Fried Quail Eggs

The Fried Quail Eggs are a simple, quick, and truly delicious dish. It’s a lifesaver recipe that can be prepared at the last minute and always pleases the whole family. Sometimes my mom made them with just onions and tomatoes, and other times she added a bit of bell pepper to make them tastier. In any case, they can be enriched with whatever you like, perhaps with some grated Parmesan cheese.

Quail Eggs Sunny-side Up
  • Cost: Affordable
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 2 people
  • Cooking methods: Stovetop
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 1 package Quail Eggs
  • 1.5 cups Cherry Tomatoes
  • 1 Small Onion
  • 1.5 cups Yellow Bell Pepper
  • 4 slices Whole Wheat Bread
  • to taste Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • to taste Salt and Pepper

Tools

  • 1 Frying Pan non-stick

Preparation

After washing and drying the bell pepper, cut it into strips, not all thin, so that some remain crunchy. Do the same with the onion and slice the cherry tomatoes.

Put two or three tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil in a non-stick frying pan and immediately pour the onion over it. Add the bell peppers, a pinch of salt, and sauté. Add the cherry tomatoes and continue cooking until they are well wilted.

At this point, we just need to crack the quail eggs over, but handle them gently as they break easily. Cook them for just a few minutes, or they may dry out. Finally, if you like, sprinkle them with freshly ground pepper.

Serve our Fried Quail Eggs immediately, very hot, and perhaps accompanied by some slices of bread with walnuts.

Tip:

Quail eggs can be stored in the refrigerator for one day, but in an airtight container.

If you haven’t yet found the pepper you like the most, I recommend trying Madagascar pepper. It’s sold in grains, to be freshly ground on the spot.

It costs a bit, but once tried, you won’t abandon it: it has an intense flavor and aroma.

You’ll notice how little you need to enrich your dishes.
