Hazelnut Cream Swirls
  • Difficulty: Very easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Rest time: 20 Minutes
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 8 swirls
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 2 slices rectangular and long sandwich bread
  • to taste spreadable hazelnut cream
  • to taste colored sprinkles
  • 1.75 oz dark chocolate

Tools

  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Rolling pin
  • 1 Small bowl steel
  • 1 Saucepan
  • 1 Knife

How to prepare Hazelnut Cream Swirls

First, organize your workspace with all the ingredients, so you have everything at hand.

Place the slice of sandwich bread on the cutting board, and with the help of a small rolling pin, try to flatten it without breaking it.

Do the same with the second slice, and then move on to the filling.

Spread a layer of hazelnut cream over the entire surface, then roll it up on itself, forming a sort of spiral cylinder.

Divide the roll into 4 pieces, using a sharp knife, and let them rest in the refrigerator.

In the meantime, melt the dark chocolate in a bain-marie, or alternatively, microwave it for a few seconds.

At this point, place the bowl on the cutting board, and before it cools down, dip one swirl at a time in the chocolate, let it drain, and sprinkle it with colored sprinkles.

Then place them on a large plate, so they don’t touch each other, and put them in the fridge for a few minutes to harden the glaze.

Serve your Hazelnut Cream Swirls not too cold from the fridge, otherwise, the cream inside will be too solid and less tasty.

Once taken out of the fridge, let them temper, and then take a bite, you will find them crunchy on the outside but with a soft heart.

Tips and Variations

You can keep the swirls in the refrigerator for up to three days, but always remember to eat them at room temperature.
