Passion Fruit and Carrot Juice

Passion Fruit and Carrot Juice, a refreshing, very tasty drink that we can enjoy not only during the hottest periods but also throughout the year. I recommend choosing ripe fruit, so that you won’t feel the need to add sugar, especially if you’re making it for children’s snacks. In any case, the naturally sweet carrot makes it irresistible even without a sweetener. For this recipe, you don’t need juicers or centrifuges, just a blender or a mini cutter like in my case, and a sieve. Fiber is important, so filtered in this way, you’ll consume enough without any discomfort while drinking. Thus, an easy-to-make drink, ideal even for those less experienced in the kitchen, and especially an alternative to industrial fruit juices. Furthermore, if you want to stock up to enjoy all year round, you can preserve the juice using the water bath method.

Passion Fruit and Carrot Juice
  • Cost: Economical
  • Rest time: 1 Hour
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 4 people
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: Summer, All seasons

Ingredients

  • 7 oz passion fruit
  • 7 oz carrots
  • 21 oz sparkling water
  • Half lemon juice

Tools

  • 1 Blender
  • 4 Glasses
  • 1 Pitcher
  • 1 Plastic wrap
  • 1 Small bowl
  • 1 Peeler

Preparation

Wash the passion fruits and carrots thoroughly to remove any impurities. Cut the fruits in half and use a teaspoon to scoop out the pulp, collecting it in a small bowl. Peel the carrots and cut them into slices.

Place the carrots in the blender, add the passion fruit pulp, the juice of half a lemon, and just a little water taken from the amount we need, to blend everything better. Do not add sugar until you taste it, because if the passion fruit is ripe, there is really no need.

Blend finely, place the sieve over the pitcher, and strain the fruit mixture. With the remaining water we have, clean the blender and strain again, so as not to waste anything. At this point, cover the pitcher with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about an hour. If the fruits and carrots are already cold, you can skip this step and serve immediately.

After the necessary time, take the juice from the fridge and pour it into 4 glasses already filled with ice.

Serve our Passion Fruit and Carrot Juice immediately, but not before garnishing with a half lemon slice and perhaps a straw.

Tips and Storage

We can store the fruit juice for at least one day in the refrigerator, not because there is a chance it will go bad, but unfortunately, the organoleptic properties of the food would be lost.

I recommend avoiding storage in plastic containers, as they are toxic. It’s better to prefer glass that does not release any harmful substances into our bodies; ceramic is also fine. However, make sure they are hermetically sealed to prevent them from absorbing flavors and odors from other foods.
