Puff Pastry and Salami Roses
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 6 roses
  • Cooking methods: Electric oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients

  • 1 roll rectangular puff pastry
  • 6 slices Milano salami
  • 6 slices melting cheese
  • 1 egg

Tools

  • 1 Muffin pan
  • 1 Pizza wheel

Preparation

First, cut each slice of salami and melting cheese in half. Unroll the rectangular puff pastry and divide it into 6 strips using a smooth pizza cutter.

Place the cheese on each strip, then place the salami slightly protruding from the pastry. Finally, fold the bottom of the pastry over the cheese.

At this point, roll it up to form a little rose, open it slightly, and place it inside a muffin pan. Brush all the roses with beaten egg. Finally, bake in a preheated oven at 392°F, static mode, and let it bake for 15 minutes or until they are nicely golden.

Remove from the oven, let them cool slightly to avoid burning yourself, and take out the roses.

Serve our Puff Pastry Roses with Salami hot so that the cheese stretches at the first bite, or warm because they’ll still be delicious.

Tips and Storage

We can store the roses either cooked or raw in the refrigerator for two or three days, covered with plastic wrap.

If you want to freeze them, that’s also possible either raw or cooked. Just make sure to defrost in the refrigerator or microwave.
