Red Bites in Air Fryer are one of those simple and irresistible treats that solve dinner in an instant. Perfect as an appetizer, savory snack or last-minute aperitif, they are prepared in a few minutes thanks to the ready-made focaccia base and are quickly cooked in the air fryer: no oven needed and the result is super tasty.
Just a touch of tomato sauce, mozzarella, a drizzle of oil, oregano, and a few basil leaves are enough to bring something tasty and made with love to the table.
They are a great dinner saver, ideal even when we have little time, few ideas or few ingredients at home.
Try them too, I am sure they will be gone before they even reach the table.

- Cooking methods: Air frying
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All seasons
Ingredients
- 1 package Buitoni focaccia
- 8 tablespoons tomato sauce
- 6 oz approximately mozzarella
- to taste extra virgin olive oil
- to taste salt
- to taste oregano
- to taste basil leaves for decoration
Tools
- 1 Air Fryer COSORI
- 1 Bowl
Preparation
Pour the tomato sauce into a small bowl, season it with salt, oregano, extra virgin olive oil and mix well.
Divide the ready-made focaccia dough into 8/10 wedges (you can substitute it with pizza dough), fold them over each other forming a kind of ball and finally flatten them into a pizza shape.
Place the mini pizzas in the air fryer and cook them for 3 minutes at 356°F. After the time is up, flip them and if they have puffed up, press the center with a spoon so a sort of indentation forms. Season them with sauce, mozzarella and put them back to cook for another 3 minutes, still at 356°F.
Once cooked, take them out of the fryer and place them on a serving platter.
Serve our Red Bites in Air Fryer hot or at room temperature, but not before decorating them with fresh basil leaves.
Tips, Variations, and Storage
The red bites cooked in the air fryer are best enjoyed freshly made, but they can be stored in the refrigerator for a day or two. To serve them, simply reheat them in the air fryer for two minutes at 320°F: they will become crisp again as if just made.
We can easily freeze the pre-cooked bases, ready to be topped with other ingredients, or already cooked.
