Warm Apple Juice with Rum and Spices is a recipe that warms both body and soul, because its aroma and flavor (thanks to the spices and rum) are a delight. Sharing it with family and friends, especially during the Christmas period, makes us feel really good. It is definitely a relaxing drink, given the calming properties of apple and honey, and even though rum is added, don’t worry for those who cannot consume alcohol, because it evaporates during cooking, leaving only the aroma of the liquor. To make this recipe, I used a juicer, which I find very convenient, but for those who do not have one, ready-made apple juice will also work just fine.

- 12 cloves
- 3 tbsps honey
- Half lemon juice
- 5 oz rum

How to Prepare Warm Apple Juice with Rum and Spices
Peel the apples, remove the seeds, and cut them into pieces, slightly smaller than the opening of your juicer.
Place them inside the juicer, extract the juice, and pour it into a saucepan (do not discard the pulp, as it can be used for other recipes).
Add the cinnamon, cloves, anise seeds, and stir.
Add the lemon juice, rum, honey, and place on the stove to simmer for about ten minutes.
After the required time, turn off the heat, let it rest for 15 minutes to absorb the flavors, and strain the drink.
Serve your Warm Apple Juice with Rum and Spices hot, garnished with cinnamon sticks and apple slices.
Advice, Variations, and Storage
You can store the spiced apple juice, definitely for a few days in the refrigerator but inside a hermetically sealed bottle.
This way you can prepare it in advance if you want to serve it as an after-dinner drink, or even for Christmas.
If you can’t find anise seeds, you can also use star anise, as both will give your drink a delicious flavor.
If desired, you can also put the juice in a preserve so you can enjoy it whenever you want, as it can last for two years.
