SAVORY PUFF PASTRY BUNNIES

The savory puff pastry bunnies are easy and quick to make for Easter and Easter Monday. They really take five minutes to prepare and in addition to being delicious, they are very cute to present as an appetizer or snack. Moreover, you do not even need many ingredients.

Ingredients for the puff pastry bunnies

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (rectangular)
  • 3 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • to taste grated Parmesan cheese
  • to taste dried oregano
  • 12 green olives (pitted)

Tools

  • 1 Wheel pizza cutter or pastry cutter
  • 1 Baking tray oven tray
  • Parchment paper

Preparation of the puff pastry bunnies

  • First, preheat the oven to 356°F (180°C) static, then start preparing the bunnies.

  • 1 – Take the puff pastry and unroll it, leaving the shorter side towards you.

  • 2 – Spread the tomato sauce on only half of the puff pastry, then sprinkle with grated Parmesan and oregano.

  • 3 – Then fold the two halves together, pressing slightly with your hands.

  • 4 – Take a pizza cutter and cut into strips about 0.4 inches (1 cm) thick.

  • 5 – Take one strip at a time and place an olive in the center.

  • 6 – Now twist the two ends together, forming two ears.

  • Proceed in this way with all the strips obtained. Then place the bunnies on a baking sheet and bake for 20-30 minutes at 356°F (180°C), static.

Notes

Instead of tomato sauce, you can use savory sauces or creams.

You can replace the green olive with a black one, or with cherry tomatoes.
