2-Ingredient Bagels – in Air Fryer

The 2-ingredient bagels are the perfect solution for those who want to make something tasty without spending time on complex doughs or endless leavening. These are super easy savory bagels, ready in minutes with just two main ingredients: flour and Greek yogurt. The best part? They are also naturally protein-packed, thanks to the yogurt, and neither a mixer nor active dry yeast is needed.
Perfect to prepare at the last minute, they cook very quickly in the air fryer, but they also work well in the oven: just increase the temperature and cooking time slightly. Below are the cooking instructions for both, so you can choose your preference. Ideal to enjoy stuffed, for breakfast or lunch, or as a quick bread alternative. Ingredients

  • 7 oz Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp instant yeast for savory dishes
  • to taste sesame seeds
  • to taste salt

Steps

  • In a bowl, combine the flour with Greek yogurt, instant yeast for savory dishes, and a pinch of salt (optional). Briefly knead first with a spoon then by hand inside the bowl. Divide the dough in half. Now, form long rolls and join the outer ends to make rings, the characteristic shape of bagels. Brush the surface with an egg yolk and add sesame seeds (optional).

    Cook in air fryer at 356°F for 20 minutes, flipping them with 5 minutes remaining, or bake in a preheated oven at 374°F for about 35 minutes or until golden.

    Wait a few minutes and you can open them to fill as you prefer: I suggest stracciatella, tomato, and lettuce, but they can also be eaten plain or as a bread alternative. Enjoy!

Tips for you

✔ The main ingredients are two: flour and yogurt, while salt and sesame seeds are optional.

✔ I recommend not using trays or parchment paper for air fryer cooking: this will ensure even cooking.
