The pizza bombs are delicious cheesy pizza-filled balls, perfect as an appetizer or a tasty dinner. They can be prepared in just a few minutes and don’t require any leavening, very easy to make and require very few ingredients. We’ll cook them in an air fryer in less than 10 minutes, but alternatively, they can be baked in the oven. Everyone will love this recipe! To make these pizza bombs, we’ll need only Greek yogurt, flour, and instant yeast, and for the filling, tomato paste and cheese. And for the measurements, we’ll use only a tablespoon! So no scales or measuring cups needed.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast for savory dishes
  • 1 pinch salt
  • to taste tomato paste
  • to taste mozzarella or cheese
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil

Steps

  • In a bowl, pour the Greek yogurt, the all-purpose flour, the instant yeast for savory dishes and a pinch of salt. First, mix with a spoon until the mixture becomes crumbly; then start working it with your hands to obtain a smooth dough.

  • Divide it into 4 parts and form balls. Roll them out with a rolling pin to obtain disks.

  • Season each disk in the center with a teaspoon of tomato paste and a cube of cheese. Close them well by sealing them, obtaining pizza bombs.

    Transfer them to the air fryer’s basket and brush them with a little extra virgin olive oil. Cook them at 356°F (180°C) for 8 minutes.

    Serve hot and cheesy. Enjoy your meal.

Tips for you

✔ It is necessary to cook the rolls directly in the basket of the air fryer without pans or parchment paper: this way they will cook thanks to the air passing 360 degrees from bottom to top, allowing for ideal air frying. Pans or parchment paper would be an obstacle as they would block the air circulating inside the air fryer.

✔ I recommend using the BBQ mesh to insert directly into the non-stick basket of your air fryer: the mesh protects the basket’s non-stick coating (which will remain like new) and allows the food to cook evenly, letting air pass 360 degrees. You can find it on Amazon by clicking here.
