Air Fryer Roasted Peppers

The air fryer roasted peppers are super easy to make, and thanks to this cooking method, you can avoid the heat of the oven. With the air fryer, the house will stay more cool compared to the traditional cooking method, and the peppers will cook much faster.

To roast the peppers in the air fryer, it will only take 20-25 minutes, compared to the classic 40 minutes or more in the oven. Obviously, with the air fryer, you are limited by size, so if you have 4 peppers, I definitely recommend using the oven. Below you’ll find both cooking methods.

The roasted peppers are perfect for those who have difficulty digesting them: with this cooking method, it will be very easy to remove the skin, which is generally the part of the pepper that is hard to digest, especially for those who are more prone to digestive and intestinal issues. Once peeled, you can season them as you like, for example, with a drizzle of EVO oil, salt, and fresh basil.

Air Fryer Roasted Peppers

Ingredients

  • 2 red peppers
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste salt
  • to taste fresh basil

Steps

  • Wash the peppers well and dry them. Transfer them directly into the basket of the air fryer and cook at 392°F for about 20-25 minutes, turning them halfway through: they should be well roasted in some parts. If you prefer to use the oven, or if you have more peppers to cook, preheat the oven to 392°F and place them on a baking tray; cook the peppers for about 40 minutes.

  • Once ready, transfer them to a bowl and cover with plastic wrap, then wait for about half an hour or more until they have cooled down.

    Now we just have to remove the skin: as you will see, it will be very easy and will come off with great ease. Open them and remove the seeds.

  • Cut them into strips and season with a nice drizzle of EVO oil, a pinch of salt, and some basil leaves. The seasoning is up to you, so you can add whatever you prefer.
