The savory dove bread without rising is an extremely quick recipe to make, perfect as a “fridge cleaner“: indeed, we will need just a few ingredients plus, to enrich it, anything we find in our fridge. In this case, for example, we used diced cooked ham and provolone, but any other alternative works just fine.
This dove bread is perfect as a last-minute recipe for Easter, since it requires no rising and is very easy to make. Simply put all the ingredients into the bowl, mix, and transfer everything into a dove mold. A piece of cake!
The savory dove bread without rising can be cooked in an air fryer (I’ll explain how to do it perfectly) or in an oven: below you’ll find both cooking methods so you can choose the one you prefer.

- 3 1/2 tbsp sunflower oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 packet instant yeast for savory dishes
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 1/2 oz provolone
- 4 1/4 oz cooked ham
- to taste chia seeds
Tools
- Air Fryer
- Dove Mold
Steps
In a bowl, crack the eggs, add the milk, sunflower oil, salt, and mix with a hand whisk. Combine all the flour, instant yeast for savory dishes, and the grated Parmesan; also add the diced provolone and cooked ham. Preheat the air fryer for 2 minutes or the oven for at least 10-15 minutes until it reaches the desired temperature.
Transfer the mixture into the dove mold, level the surface with a spoon, and sprinkle some chia seeds on top. Cook the savory dove bread in the air fryer at 320°F for about 30-35 minutes.
Alternatively, you can bake it in a fan-assisted oven at 320°F for about 50 minutes or in a static oven at 338°F for 50 minutes.
Do the toothpick test! Wait for it to cool before removing it from the mold. Enjoy your meal!
