The Seadas in air fryer are the lighter version of one of the most iconic and beloved Sardinian desserts. In this recipe, I show you my ideal cooking method to achieve perfect Seadas, golden, crispy on the outside, and with a melted heart, just like in the traditional fried version. The peculiarity of this preparation is that it only requires a drizzle of oil on each Seada to achieve the same result as classic frying, but without immersing the dessert in boiling oil. This way, even those who are on a diet or usually avoid fried foods can enjoy them: the taste remains authentic, and the lightness is surprising.
Thanks to my precautions and the right cooking method, the Seadas will cook in the air fryer developing the classic frying bubbles, yet maintaining a much healthier profile. Naturally, for those who prefer the traditional version, it is always possible to opt for classic frying, but in this article you will find all the details and tips to cook them in an air fryer. Also, in the procedure section, I provide instructions for baking in the oven, another convenient and light alternative.

- Seasonality: All Seasons
Ingredients
- 3 seadas
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- to taste honey (I use chestnut)
Tools
- Air Fryer
Steps
Preheat the air fryer to 356°F for about 3 minutes.
Place the Seadas in the basket, gently brush the surface with a drizzle of oil, then flip them and brush the other side as well. At this point, flip them again, so that the cooking starts on the top side.Cook in the air fryer at 356°F for 8 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking. This step is essential to achieve a perfect result: already after the first 4 minutes of cooking, you will notice the formation of the characteristic bubbles of frying. By flipping them, you ensure the same effect on the opposite side, achieving a crunchy and well-golden surface.
Alternatively, they can be baked in the oven at 374°F for about 15-18 minutes or until they are golden and crispy, or of course, you can fry them in plenty of seed oil for a few minutes on each side until golden.
Once ready, immediately transfer the Seadas to serving plates, add the honey on top, and serve hot. In this preparation, we used chestnut honey, but you can choose any honey you prefer based on your taste. The result will be surprising: crispy on the outside and melty on the inside, just like the traditional version. Enjoy your meal!
Tips for You
• The Seadas used in this recipe are the ready-to-cook ones, easily found in stores, such as supermarkets or pasta shops, perfect for a quick preparation.
• Alternatively, you can make them at home with semolina, lard, and melting cheese, following one of the many recipes available online.
• Chestnut honey gives a stronger flavor, but you can also opt for acacia or wildflower honey for a more delicate note.
• To cook the seadas, I used the COSORI Turbo Blaze Air Fryer with 6 liters capacity, which, thanks to its super powerful fan, really enhances the traditional frying idea. You can find it here: air fryer.
