Air Fryer Omelette: How to Cook It Easily

The air fryer omelette is a convenient solution for preparing a main course without using pans.
It cooks directly in a baking dish or on parchment paper, does not need to be flipped, and requires only a few minutes of cooking.
In this article, I’ll explain how to prepare it easily, with the right timing and some useful tips.

Air Fryer Omelette
  • Difficulty: Very Easy
  • Cost: Very Cheap
  • Rest time: 2 Minutes
  • Preparation time: 3 Minutes
  • Portions: 4 People
  • Cooking methods: Air Frying
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All Seasons

Ingredients

The number of eggs depends on the size of the basket and the baking dish: the important thing is to achieve a thickness that is not too high.

  • 4 eggs
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper

Tools

  • 1 Air Fryer

Steps

  • Break the eggs into a bowl.
Add a pinch of salt, pepper, and the ingredients you like best, for example, I added some diced smoked mozzarella.
Quickly beat with a fork, without overbeating them.
Pour the mixture into a baking dish suitable for the air fryer, lightly greased or lined with parchment paper.
IMPORTANT!!! (Make sure that the parchment paper does not exceed the height of the basket of the air fryer. If it’s too high, cut it down so it stays lower: this way you avoid it touching the heating element during cooking, risking it to burn.)
    Level the surface well.

  • Temperature: 356°F
    Time: about 10 minutes
The time may vary depending on the thickness of the omelette and the model of the air fryer.
The omelette is ready when it is well cooked but still soft.
If you like it slightly more golden on the surface, you can add 1–2 minutes of cooking time at the end.

Useful Tips

A not too thick omelette is better: it cooks evenly and remains softer.

If you want, you can add a tablespoon of milk or water to the eggs for a fluffier texture.

Always use a baking dish that fits comfortably in the basket, without forcing.

⚠️ Mistakes to Avoid

These are the most common mistakes when preparing the air fryer omelette:
Overfilling the baking dish
A too thick omelette cooks poorly in the center.
Too high temperature
You risk drying it out on the outside and leaving it raw inside.
Overbeating the eggs
No need: just beat them enough to mix.
Removing the omelette immediately
Let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving: it sets better.

Simple Variations

This omelette is a perfect base. You can enrich it with whatever you have at home:
