Ingredients

  • 3 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 vanillin (Packet)
  • Half baking powder (Packet)
  • 2 eggs
  • 8 1/2 tbsps butter (At room temperature)
  • 3 apples (Your choice)
  • 2 tbsps apricot jam
  • 2 tbsps sugar
  • to taste ground cinnamon
  • 2 oz chopped toasted hazelnuts (To add to the crumble)
  • to taste powdered sugar
  • 1 lemon (Juice)

Steps

  • In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and vanillin.

  • Add the butter and eggs, and knead with your hands. Knead until you reach a crumbly consistency.

  • Peel and slice the apples. Add lemon juice.

    Cover the bottom of a greased and floured baking pan with about 3/4 of the dough. Press down firmly using your hands.

  • Add the jam, sugar, and cinnamon to the sliced apples. Mix well and cover the dough with this mixture.

  • Add the chopped hazelnuts to the remaining crumbled dough, covering the apples without compacting.

  • Bake in the oven at 350°F for about 35-40 minutes.

    Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
