Cake with Nutella and Yogurt

I have already made this cake with Nutella and yogurt 8 times, and every time the Nutella stayed soft in the batter, and the yogurt makes it super fluffy. A dessert with Nutella that will amaze you with its easy preparation and, above all, will ensure that the Nutella or jam, whichever you choose, will not sink during baking and will remain soft and delicious. If you’ve visited my blog before, you’ve surely seen that I’m making several desserts using drained milk kefir; of course, you can replace it with some low-fat plain yogurt, or look for packaged kefir in the refrigerated section of the market among the classic yogurts.

Ingredients for a 24 cm Cake with Nutella and yogurt:

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup potato starch
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 125 g milk kefir (or one container of low-fat plain yogurt)
  • 2 tbsps sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pinch salt
  • to taste Nutella® (or jam)
  • to taste chocolate chips
  • to taste sugar sprinkles
  • 1 packet baking powder

  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Mold
  • 1 Oven
  • 2 Teaspoons
  • Parchment paper

Preparation of Cake with Nutella and yogurt:

  • The first thing to do when making this cake with Nutella is to preheat the oven to 320°F in static mode.

    Then take a bowl and break the two eggs into it, which we will whisk with the sugar and the pinch of salt using electric whisks.

    Then add the other liquids: the cup of vegetable oil and the yogurt amount, in my case drained milk kefir or a 125 g low-fat plain yogurt.

  • Continue by sifting the flour with the potato starch and the baking powder. Add the flours and work everything with the electric whisks until you obtain a smooth and lump-free mixture.

    Now take a 24 cm pan and line the bottom with some parchment paper moistened with a little water.

  • Pour the mixture of our cake and start adding the Nutella with the two teaspoons. Sprinkle the surface with some chocolate chips and sugar sprinkles.

    Bake for about 30 minutes, always do the toothpick test before turning off the oven. Mine is a bit old and thus quickly reaches the temperature and maintains it very easily.

  • You can serve the Cake with Nutella and yogurt with or without powdered sugar; we like it without, given the presence of sprinkles and chocolate chips.

The Cake with Nutella and yogurt can be stored in a cake container for several days, it will remain soft and delicious with the Nutella not sinking to the bottom of the pan.
