This simple Coffee Dessert in a Glass I prepared this morning thinking about two factors:

1) Valentine’s Day is approaching, so I want to suggest an easy and quick recipe, perfect even for those who are not skilled in baking but want to impress their guest;

2) I had a task to complete using a glass and the photography techniques acquired over years of photography lab work.

The result is in front of your eyes, an easy dessert that truly takes 5 minutes to prepare, with unlimited decoration variations and guaranteed visual effect!

If you are part of the large group of Valentine’s Day fans, you can’t miss saving this recipe. When will you get another chance to prepare the dessert together or just before serving it? Think about the anxiety from: “Will it be cooked perfectly?” or “Did I follow all the steps?”, or even “I thought it would be easier or take less time to prepare!” This Coffee Dessert in a Glass can be prepared together, following two simple steps, and then you can enjoy this yogurt spoon after spoon.

If you’re instead part of the ever-growing group of those who love sweets but always run late with preparations, know that you have my full understanding because I’m just like you. I prepare a lot of things when I have guests, which I often forget to serve due to anxiety (my father can testify to the famous roasted potatoes forgotten in the oven on Christmas Lunch) or worse, I run late with the preparation of previous dishes and can’t even serve the dessert. So for those of you who risk ending a meal without dessert, when it’s the course we most look forward to, I recommend adding this recipe to your favorites because all you’ll need is yogurt, preferably coffee-flavored, and dry cookies we all keep in the pantry for breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 2 containers yogurt (coffee-flavored)
  • 10 dry cookies
  • as needed sliced almonds
  • as needed chocolate chips

Tools

  • 2 Glasses
  • 1 Piping bag
  • 1 Spoon

Steps

  • The first thing to do is to crumble the 8 cookies by hand and divide the amount into two glasses. I used two crystal goblets from my grandmother’s service, I believe. If my father wants to confirm this, I’ll let you know. (glass update 02/03/2022 – my father denies they were my grandmother’s but instead says they were bought by him and my mother after their wedding. So they aren’t my grandmother’s but theirs) Now we take the two containers of coffee Greek yogurt, in my case, each weighing 170 g, and fill the piping bag with the help of a spoon or teaspoon. Distribute the coffee yogurt into the two glasses or goblets. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and almond slices if you have chosen my same final decoration, and place a cookie in each goblet to use as a wafer. Of course, if you have wafers, they’ll be more than fine. Arm yourself with a teaspoon and start the feast, such an express delight! As always, enjoy your meal!!

The extra touch: you can add a cup of coffee, dividing the amount between the two goblets, to pour over the yogurt. Obviously, everything will become more liquid and should be consumed more quickly.

The extra idea: if you prepare these two yogurt goblets in advance, you can store them in the refrigerator without covering them to serve immediately after dinner. However, don’t add the cookie or wafer; that will be the final step, or they might become hard or dry.

Variations:

Of course, the decoration variations are up to you. This morning I had chocolate chips, which are never missing from my pantry, breakfast whole-grain cookies, sliced almonds, and some biscuits similar to mini Baiocchi. You can vary with hazelnuts, whole almonds, walnuts, different cookies, change the yogurt if you don’t like coffee-flavored, in short, the more ingredients you have different from mine, the better. Just send me the photos of your results as always!
