Le Ricette di Bea presents the recipe for Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes and Prosciutto! I saw this recipe somewhere, on some blog or site, but unfortunately, I don’t remember because I didn’t print it, only read it and memorized it. It’s a complete main course on its own, but you can make it even more enticing by serving it with a seasonal side dish and a good wine, whether white or red.
This meatloaf with mashed potatoes is a guarantee, I’ve prepared it many times and served it on various occasions, especially for Christmas or Easter holidays. My guests love it for its softness and flavor, which slice after slice conquers everyone.
The only thing to keep in mind when preparing this meatloaf recipe is the preparation time, referring to the mashed potatoes which must be prepared several hours in advance and left to cool at room temperature covered with plastic wrap so it’s not too hot when we proceed with the recipe.
As you can see from the photo, I served the meatloaf with mashed potatoes with some sautéed peas, you’ll find the recipe on my blog, flavorful sautéed peas, to which I added pieces of carrots and coarsely chopped white onions.
Do you love meatloaf? In my place, they literally go crazy for it, so I often find myself publishing the recipe for baked meatloaf with:

Preparation of the Meatloaf with Baked Mashed Potatoes Recipe
The first thing to do to prepare our tasty meatloaf with mashed potatoes and prosciutto is, of course, to get some mashed potatoes. In my case, I already prepared it in the morning, so the mash had all the time to cool and solidify. Keep in mind that the meatloaf takes about 40 minutes to cook, so when you’re ready to prepare dinner, start by preheating the oven in static mode to 350°F.
Then we move on to working the ground beef, in a nice large bowl, along with our egg, adding salt, pepper, nutmeg, and breadcrumbs. We mix all the ingredients well. Then, using parchment paper, we spread out the meat to a thickness of about 0.39 inches. We prepare a bed with the prosciutto and then spread the previously prepared mash on top.
With the help of the parchment paper, we close the meatloaf well, so it doesn’t open during cooking. I leave it wrapped in parchment paper and close it at the sides with kitchen string to be completely sure. We move on to the last step of this recipe, which is baking at 350°F- 390°F for about 35 – 40 minutes. Mine always takes around 40 minutes because I make it nice and thick, as seen in the photo.
Enjoy your meal!!!
Ps. After a long time, and thanks to a visit to the fan page by Sonia, I found the blog where I noticed this delicious recipe, here it is Il mio saper fare so Thank you Marisa!!!
