I don’t want to sound repetitive, but I think it’s more than fair to write the recipe for the Nua Cake with Cocoa and Custard since I showed you the photo on the Le Ricette di Bea fan page. Here is the cocoa variant of the cake you all loved so much. The Nua Cake with Custard was the cake you chose to celebrate the blog’s ninth birthday, but above all, it was the cake you enjoyed the most, as many of you made it again, and I created an album to show all the followers your results and comments.
If you’re curious, you can also try the Nua Muffins, the version of Cocoa and Custard Muffins that I published here on the blog a few days ago. On the blog, you’ll also find the collection sweet recipes with homemade custard, all the sweets I’ve prepared using this ingredient as the star!

Tools
- Hand Whisk
- Electric Whisk
- Oven
- Stovetop
- 1 Bowl
- 1 Spatula
Preparation of the Nua Cake with Cocoa and Custard:
As with the Nua Cake with custard, the first thing to do is to prepare the custard. Start by working with the electric whisk the two eggs with the sugar in a small pot, and when they are well blended, add the flour.
Place the pot on the stovetop and turn on the flame, keeping it low. Gradually pour in the milk and add the vanilla vial or packet.
Continue to work with the hand whisk until your custard is well thickened. Turn off the flame and continue to work a little more to prevent it from sticking to the pot or forming lumps.
Cover with a damp cloth and let it cool outside the window.
Let’s move on to the preparation of the Nua Cake with Cocoa. Preheat the oven to 350°F with static mode. Now take a nice large bowl and start working with the electric whisk the eggs with the sugar. Add the pinch of salt, the flour spoon by spoon, the milk, the vegetable oil, and finally the packet of baking powder.
Line a 9-inch pan with parchment paper, I wet and squeeze it well before using it, otherwise, grease the pan with some oil.
Pour the cake mixture with the help of a spatula as it will be very dense.
Take the custard and with the help of a spoon, spread it on the surface of your cake (as you can see in the video recipe).
Bake for about 40 minutes, always do the toothpick test before turning the oven off definitively. Allow at least 5 hours before removing it from the pan because it must cool completely.
Sprinkle with plenty of powdered sugar and enjoy your meal!!!
Storage:
The Nua Cake with Cocoa and Custard can be stored in a cake holder for about 3 days. It will never become hard, and above all, you can do it since the custard is cooked so there is no risk with the eggs.
