Vanilla Cat’s Tongues

Bea’s Recipes finally presents the recipe for a cookie: vanilla Cat’s Tongues. I finally managed not to burn a blessed cookie. It’s not easy, believe me, I never make them because they stick, harden, burn, and I get a rage I didn’t think possible. I adore cookies, yet I don’t know how to make them at home. So, triumphantly, I present this recipe and am very proud of it.

Ingredients for the Cat’s Tongues

  • 7 tbsp Butter (room temperature)
  • 3 large Egg Whites (room temperature)
  • 1 cup Vanilla Powdered Sugar
  • 1 cup All-purpose Flour
  • 2 Vanillin (vials)

Tools

  • Electric Whisk
  • Oven
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Baking Sheet
  • 1 Parchment Paper

Preparation of the Cat’s Tongues

  • Let’s start by working the melted butter at room temperature with the vanilla powdered sugar, in a bowl with the help of the whisk. Once a smooth cream without lumps is obtained, we will add half the amount of egg whites and half the amount of flour. Incorporate everything well before adding the other half of the egg whites and flour and finally the two vials of vanilla flavoring. The egg whites do not need to be whipped for this recipe. At this point, take a piping bag, pour all the mixture into it, and let it rest in the fridge for about 10 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 390°F in static mode. Meanwhile, take the baking sheets, nice and wide, I recommend, you cannot bake them all at once since the recipe yields about 25 – 30 cat’s tongues. Line the sheets with parchment paper and proceed with the preparation using the piping bag with a flat tip. Leave a few inches between each strip. Start baking one sheet at a time for about 10 minutes. As they cook, remove the vanilla cat’s tongues from the sheet with a spatula, letting them cool on a nice wide tray. I made 4 batches to bake them all; I have a nice wide square sheet but put no more than 7 – 8 tongues. Cat’s tongues can be flavored with vanilla as in my case, or you can choose lemon or orange flavor.

    Enjoy!!!
