This homemade coffee Grandfather’s Cup is so creamy that it is more of a semifreddo than ice cream. It is easy and quick to prepare at home, no ice cream maker needed and it has an incredible taste (only 3 ingredients, egg-free and gluten-free). Convenient to keep in the freezer, ready for any occasion.
Ideal for enjoying in the summer for its freshness, but also on festive occasions and celebrations (e.g. for Father’s Day).

Steps for the Creamy Grandfather’s Cup
Firstly, at least half an hour before starting to prepare the recipe, put the bowl where you will whip the cream in the freezer along with the beaters, and the cream and condensed milk must also be well chilled from the fridge.
Meanwhile, take a saucepan and take 1.7 oz of cream (from the total of 8.8 oz) and heat it on the stove. Add the instant coffee and stir until it is completely dissolved.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and pour the condensed milk into the cream and coffee mixture, and stir well.
Let the mixture cool well before adding it to the whipping cream.
Once the coffee mixture has cooled, pour the cream into a bowl (the remaining 7.1 oz) and combine it with the condensed milk and coffee mixture.
Begin to whip the mixture with an electric mixer, gradually increasing the speed until a soft and firm cream is obtained (do not whip for too long, otherwise it will turn into butter).
At this point, fill the cups to the brim, level the surface, and place in the freezer for at least 3 hours.
Before serving the cups, leave them for about 6 minutes at room temperature, dust the surface with unsweetened cocoa (optional), and decorate with coffee beans (optional).
Notes and Tips
Use Hoplà cream as it provides more consistency and density to the mixture.
