A simple and light ice cream to always keep in the freezer for delicious snacks, without any guilt. It’s a healthy recipe, lactose-free, gluten-free, preservative-free, and also vegan!
Vegan dessert, simple, easy, and quick.
Basically, the banana – first frozen and then blended – takes on the same consistency as creamy ice cream.
You can make variations according to your tastes, adding: cocoa (before turning on the blender), chocolate chips (after blending), Nutella, cinnamon, vanilla, maple syrup topping, biscuit crumbs, or chopped hazelnuts, etc.

Ingredients for Smart and Creamy Banana Ice Cream without Sugar
- 4 bananas (must be VERY ripe, almost dark)
- 1 tablespoon water (or plant-based milk)
Tools
- Blender / Mixer Braun, with various accessories
- Small Bowls Set of 6 Multi-Purpose Glass Bowls
Preparation of Smart and Creamy Banana Ice Cream without Sugar
First of all, buy very ripe bananas and let them darken for a few days (don’t worry about the color, because once blended with ice, they will lighten).
Once the bananas are ripe, slice them and place them in a freezer bag in the freezer for at least 5 hours (or even better overnight).
When you feel like having ice cream, take the frozen banana slices and blend them while still frozen in the blender/mixer with 1 tablespoon of water (or plant-based milk) in 10-second intervals, until they reach a creamy consistency.
Add your favorite flavors or toppings and serve the ice cream in bowls.
If you have any leftover ice cream (which is highly unlikely), freeze it again and then blend it before consuming it again.
Shopping Tips!!!
To blend the frozen bananas, I used the very convenient blender from Braun MultiQuick 7 Hand Blender, which also comes with ice-crushing blades (also useful for chopping dark chocolate).
Read my review for GialloZafferano on the Hand Blender “Braun MQ9045 MultiQuick 9”.
Also very handy is this set of 6 multi-purpose glass bowls.
