Apple and Chocolate Puff Pastry Triangles

The apple and chocolate puff pastry triangles are delicious sweets, easy to prepare with a few ingredients. The preparation is very simple: we cook the apples with a caramel made of butter and brown sugar, add cinnamon, and when the apples are soft, we add cornstarch dissolved in a teaspoon of lemon juice and a tablespoon of water. We divide a puff pastry roll into six squares, fill each one with caramelized apples and a piece of chocolate, form triangles that we seal well and brush with cold milk. Bake at 350°F for about 15-20 minutes.

How to Prepare Apple and Chocolate Puff Pastry Triangles

  • Start preparing the apple and chocolate puff pastry triangles by making the filling: peel the apples and remove the core. Cut them into cubes.

  • Melt the butter in a pan with the brown sugar and add the apple cubes and cinnamon. In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch with a teaspoon of lemon juice and a tablespoon of water, and when the apples are soft, pour the mixture over the apples. Stir and let cool.

  • Divide a rectangular puff pastry roll into six squares. Fill each one in the center with one or two tablespoons of apples.

You can store the puff pastry triangles for 2-3 days well closed in an airtight container or alternatively, you can freeze them even raw.

You can also add raisins or dried cranberries or dried fruits like chopped hazelnuts, walnuts, or almonds to the apple filling.

We used milk chocolate, but you can use any type of chocolate you prefer.

For decoration, you can use ready-made chocolate sauce or simply melt some chocolate in a bain-marie or microwave and pour it over the triangles.
