Grape Cookies with Cornmeal, Rustic and Delicious!

The grape cookies are crumbly, rustic, and delicious, made in minutes with fresh grapes and cornmeal. They are perfect for fall: these cookies indeed capture the scents and flavors typical of this season! Already cookies, such as the classic butter ones, or those filled with apples, or the soft chocolate chip ones, or the healthier sugar-free ones with oat flakes and bananas, have always been a symbol of the colder seasons, and it’s pleasant to make them at home when the temperatures start to drop. With grapes, both white and black, they naturally evoke autumn, the harvest season! These cookies we propose today are very simple. You just need a bowl and a spatula, no special electric tools or cookie molds because you can just shape them with your hands.

To make them, first, combine the softened butter with the sugar in a bowl and mix until you get a cream, then add the beaten egg yolk, milk, cornmeal, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and grated lemon zest or vanilla. Mix first with a spatula and then with your hands until you get a compact dough. Form 14 balls, each weighing about 1 oz, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. On each ball, put a grape and press slightly with your hands to adhere well. Bake for 20 minutes at 350°F, and once golden, they will be ready.

As afternoon tea pastries or after lunch treats, they are perfect, but also for breakfast or as a night-time treat before bed, they are a real indulgence! You just have to try them as soon as possible.
