The Nutella French Toast is a perfect sweet treat to start your day with energy and sweetness, great for both breakfast and snack and brunch. Who wouldn’t love waking up to the smell of French toast filled with plenty of Nutella and topped with fresh fruit? Surely most of us! Making it at home is a piece of cake and takes no more than 5 minutes (10 minutes including cooking), just spread slices of bread with Nutella, cover each filled slice with another slice, dip them in eggs and milk as you normally would for French toast, then cook them with some butter in a pan, and you’re done. A recipe so easy and quick with so few ingredients that we can treat ourselves to it at least once a week!
As for the type of bread, brioche bread is definitely perfect with its soft and buttery consistency, but you can also decide to use other types of bread, the important thing is that it’s thick enough so we can soak it without risking it breaking. You can also use stale bread. The other essential ingredient of this recipe is Nutella, and here the doses are flexible because we can either decide to use a little or be more generous and make a French toast that is dripping with Nutella! As for the milk, you can decide to use lactose-free milk or plant-based milk.
Delicious, with a sweet filling, you only need a few ingredients to make a delicious breakfast!

Steps to make Nutella French Toast
Prepare the Nutella French Toast by first spreading 4 slices of bread with Nutella.

Crack the egg into a plate and add the milk. Beat with a fork.
Dip the slices of bread in the egg and milk trying to coat them evenly.
Melt the butter in a non-stick pan and when it’s hot, fry the slices of bread for several minutes on each side. They should be golden and crispy.
At this point, the Nutella French Toast is ready, you can garnish it with agave or maple syrup, strawberries and blueberries, or other fresh seasonal fruit.
Simo and Cicci recommend
We recommend consuming the French toast immediately or at most storing it for one to two days, also because it’s so quick to prepare that it’s always best to make it and enjoy it fresh.
Instead of brioche bread, you can use other types of bread of your choice, including white bread, long bread for sandwiches, sliced bread, or rustic bread.
You can replace Nutella with other types of hazelnut spreads.
For the milk, you can use lactose-free or plant-based milk of your choice.
