7-Jar Cake in the Air Fryer: Soft and Quick

The 7-jar cake in the air fryer is a simple and quick version of the classic bundt cake, perfect for breakfast or a snack. To adapt it to the smaller air fryer mold, I prepared a reduced version, the so-called ‘4 jars,’ but the result is still surprisingly soft and tasty. The batter is prepared in a few minutes with an electric whisk, without having to separately beat the egg whites: however, if you want an even taller and softer cake, you can fold in beaten egg whites gently from bottom to top. I chose to bake it in the air fryer to avoid turning on the oven during the summer, but of course, you can also make it in a traditional oven. A simple, versatile recipe ready to win over the whole family.

Ingredients

  • 1 jar fruit yogurt (or plain)
  • 1 jar sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 jar all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 jar potato starch
  • 1/2 jar vegetable oil
  • 1/2 packet baking powder

Tools

  • 1 Electric Whisk
  • 1 Air Fryer
  • 1 Bundt Cake Pan

Steps

  • First, pour the yogurt into a large bowl: its jar will serve as a measuring cup for the other ingredients.
Add the sugar and start mixing with an electric whisk until you get a homogeneous mixture.
Add the whole eggs and continue to work the batter until well combined.

  • Continue mixing with the electric whisk, add the sifted flour and potato starch, then add the vegetable oil.
Finally, incorporate the baking powder and mix until smooth and lump-free.

  • Pour the batter into the bundt cake pan. If you are using a disposable pan, it won’t be necessary to grease it, but with a classic pan, remember to butter and flour it before pouring in the batter.
Bake in the air fryer for about 35 minutes. If your air fryer is not very powerful, like the one I use at the beach house, set the temperature to 356°F; if you have a more modern and efficient model, it’s enough to bake at 320°F.

NOTES

The cake stays soft for several days if stored in a cake holder with a lid.

If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake it in a traditional oven at 356°F for about 35-40 minutes.

Always remember to do the toothpick test before removing from the oven: if it comes out dry, the cake is ready.

FAQ (Questions and Answers)

  • Can I replace yogurt with another ingredient?

Yes, instead of yogurt, you can use the same amount of cream or soft ricotta. The result will still be soft and delicious, although with a slightly different texture.

  • How do I know if the cake is cooked in the air fryer?

The best method is the toothpick test: insert a toothpick into the center of the cake, if it comes out dry, the baking is complete.
